This article brings me back to my childhood days. I used to make trains, 7750 set was my first train. It brings back great memories. I used to ride it through my whole house. Now I am more passionate about space, and in fact I am a Star Citizen backer and I love everything about space movies and games. I really love Star Wars and ofcourse the Millenium Falcon, and it would look great on the shelf in my study, but the price is very steep. Thank you for your passion and enthusiasm with which you wrote this review. If I was buying it today I would be happy I read this, because you covered key prodduct details, functionality insights, and the challenges of building this wonderful model. The addition of Briksmax led lighting kit is a great touch. If you are paying this much for a model then it should be really well lit to show all the details, and well protected from dust, so the dustproof case is a cherry on top for a collector. Great job.
Hello Marko,
It’s wonderful to hear how much joy and nostalgia Lego brings you, echoing the days of your first Lego train set. Your love for space and the Millennium Falcon is clear, and while the Ultimate Millennium Falcon set is a true masterpiece, its price tag can be daunting.
Good news, though! LEGO has you covered with a smaller and more affordable option – the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon set 75257. It’s an impressive model that still captures the iconic look of the legendary starship, but it’s more budget-friendly and perfect for display in your study.
Thank you for your kind words about the review, and I hope this alternative allows you to enjoy the Millennium Falcon without the steep cost.
Happy building and may the Force be with you!
Best,
Lou

Lego, Lou
The evolution of assembly activities from the ages old jigsaw puzzle to the model car/aircraft kit with a wide range of piece count and complexity based on age and skill level can be tracked through history. Before Lego appeared I my life, there were Lincoln Logs and wooden blocks to capture the imagination of Freeform building without a pre-determined result in mind. I was exposed to Mechano sets as a child and was left to build whatever I could imagine. Sometime later I discovered that other kids were playing with Lego bricks. This, I thought, was pretty cool as it left the imagination wide open to interpretation and free thinking. As I have watched Lego evolve over the years (decades), I have seen a trend toward highly complex, master builder sets with one expected design outcome, leaving little to no room for creative expression or interpretation. I tend to think of these sets as 3D puzzles for true enthusiasts of the medium as well as the content matter. While I have appreciation of the skill and patience required to complete these building challenges, some part of me looks to the chance express my own design preference.
The idea of building something that is of my own design, using parts from existing sets to create something unique is a more appealing concept to me, notwithstanding my appreciation of the Millenium Falcon. I am sure that some have embraced the concept and constructed their own version of a village, city, world with infinite variation where there is room for a Millenium Falcon or Legborghini to prowl the Freeform scape of the creators imagination. The fine motor skills and spatial visualization required to tackle some of the more complex sets is certainly fitting development for many. Now let’s leave room for some to colour outside the lines.
Just one dude’s opinion.
Hello Joe,
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful comment on the journey from traditional building blocks to the modern-day Lego masterpieces. You’ve painted a vivid picture of the evolution of construction play, capturing the essence of how these toys have shaped the way we think about creativity and structure.
Your reminiscence about the open-ended play provided by Lincoln Logs and Mechano sets strikes a chord with many who yearn for the good old days of freeform building. It’s true, the [Lego] universe has expanded to include intricate sets designed for a specific outcome, which, as you mentioned, can sometimes feel like 3D puzzles.
However, it’s fascinating to see theLego brand grow and offer a dual experience—on one hand, providing those detailed, complex sets for builders who love the challenge and the depiction of iconic designs like the Millennium Falcon, and on the other, still encouraging builders to go rogue, mix and match pieces, and build a world of their own imaginings.
Indeed, the ability to color outside the lines is what keeps the spirit of Lego alive and buzzing with possibilities. It’s what allows for the existence of a “Lamborghini” zooming through a landscape born from pure imagination. Your “dude’s opinion” is a wonderful reminder that while Lego has evolved, the core joy of building, creating, and imagining remains untouched.
Let’s keep that creativity flowing and see where our imaginations and a handful of Lego bricks can take us next!
Best,
Lou from Lou’s Bricks
